A Loaded Lip Seal Packing is a combination U-cup seal with an O-Ring insert designed to ensure uniform, positive contact between the lip and the rod or cylinder. The o-ring is placed inside the lip cavity of a seal, energizing the seal action, even in the absense of pressure.

There are three types of Loaded Lip Seals including Standard, Type “B”, and Deep Seal. The most commonly used type is the Standard Loaded Lip Seal, which has a seal depth that is equal to the radial width. For added durability, the Type B seal has beveled lip seal edges that help encase the o-ring, providing added strength and durability for more challenging applications. Deep-Seal Loaded Lip types are similar to the standard type, but with an inceased depth to the seal, providing increased sealing properpties that are able to withstand heavy-duty applications. Deep-Seal Loaded Lip packings are often used in place of Vee Packings when a strong seal is needed without the amount of drag of a Vee Packing.

Loaded Lip Seal Packings are made of 80 durometer Nitrile. 70 and 90 durometer are also available, as well as a variety of other compounds.

Available in the following Materials

Buna Nitrile Carboxylated Nitrile EPR, EPDM, EPT Viton
