The Sealpack, sometimes called a Loaded Lip Seal, is a combination U-cup seal with an O-Ring insert designed to ensure uniform, positive contact between the lip and the rod or cylinder. The o-ring is placed inside the lip cavity of a seal, energizing the seal action, even in the absense of pressure.
There are four types of Sealpacks including the standard square, square beveled, standard deep, and deep beveled. The most commonly used type is the Standard Sealpack, which has a seal depth that is equal to the radial width. For added durability, the Type B seal has beveled lip seal edges that help encase the o-ring, providing added strength and durability for more challenging applications. Deep Sealpacks are similar to the standard type, but with an inceased depth to the seal, providing increased sealing properties that are able to withstand heavy-duty applications. Deep Sealpacks are often used in place of Vee Packings when a strong seal is needed without the amount of drag of a Vee Packing.
Sealpacks are made of 80 durometer Nitrile. 70 and 90 durometer are also available, as well as a variety of other compounds.
